Other Random Car Sightings [Photo Required]

You pretty much answered your own question in the next paragraph.

The Maybachs are significantly larger than the Town Cars though not enough to take them out of the same size class; they essentially serve the same larger purpose - they are mostly intended to be driven by chauffeurs as limo-type transports. The only significant difference is that usually it's the owner in the back of the Maybach whereas with the Town Car, it's usually someone who's hired the driver and car.

I'd point out that IIRC, the last US awards ceremony Cowell and entourage showed up to featured him getting out of a stretch Town Car.

If you buy a Maybach you are doing it for exclusivity. The Town Car is not only attainable by many, but most of them are just beat up fleet vehicles too.

The Town Car is about transporting people places, the Maybach is only about driving/being driven around and looking like a rich tool. The Town Car actually has some utility, the Maybach is only for posing.

You said the Maybach and the Town Car served much the same purpose... when I start seeing Maybachs on the airport route I'll agree with you. ;)

Let?s see if this can?t shut you lot up ...

Lots of sightings this week.

Ford Lightning at the same place I snapped earlier with the E24 and the E30 convertible

All of these were parked outside of my favorite restuarant after dinner:

I am surprised by how often I see personalized plates like that.

That really is having more money than you know what to do with. It's not like vanity plates are epensive or anything, but why pay for one if you haven't got the remotest clue as to what to put on it?

Your car already has the relevant badging on its rear, dumbass!

:+1: I actually shout abuse* at people who do that here eg BMW on the reg plate of a Beemer. Tools.

*from the relative safety of my own car, naturally!

200 SX something (I think?)

A fine looking Kadett.

When I had jury duty last summer I saw the best one ever. Plate read "S Class." I looked up at the badge on the back of the car. Um, apparently someone forgot to tell the tool E != S. I was dying to take a picture but afraid the owner would show.

On my way to work today: two Alfa Romeos - at first a Spider

And then an 8C Competizione, once again in front of the bodyshop in the street where I work

Plenty of sightings today, albeit some of them were made in the nearby car dealerships.

Fury number 1.

A rather neat looking Mk1 Cabriolet.

Fast Audi.

Wow, didn't expect to see one of these in this dealership.

While leaving, I noticed something in the distance, behind the building of another dealership. HighVoltage might like this (hell, I like it too).

Switched to thumnails to keep the page load time down.

911 Targa

Mustang Convertible in top nick.

Was close to putting this in Carbage, but i fear it is supposed to look like this. Not one of Maserati's finest hours.

BMW 1600

Look! It's for sale! (Phone number intentionally left readable in case someone wants to actually buy it despite the ridiculous asking price)

And finally and un-thumnailed, the parking lot of the classic car specialist that did my carb tune:

The red Mustang sadly blocks a Volvo P1800.
