You got it with the second one, it's the Pointer. It was created when Autolatina (Ford+VW) was at it's peak. The Pointer used Ford Escord base but, instead of just putting VW badge, they've done an almost entirely new car. The same didn't happen with Ford, which, for example, build the Ford Versailles upon the VW Santana. If you look at them, you'll see minor differences only. This Autolatina thing was good for VW, terrible to Ford... and to get worse, VW has really learned how to build trucks and buses well with that...
