Spoilers: TG motorcade spotted in SF today

A close friend of mine just posted 2 hours ago on facebook, that he has spotted a motorcade in San Francisco on 4th street and by the looks of it, it could be top gear filming. He wasn't able to identify any of the drivers, so it could be TG USA, but anyhow :)

He spotted a Porsche Chayenne (not the UK typical Range Rover) camera car with TopGear logo style license plates followed by 4 Fiat 500s and a couple of police escort bikes.

With a bit fantasy you can recognize the TopGear logo on the license plate.
 
I'm guessing that's TG US. TG UK already did the 500, the Abarth SS and then used a shit load of them at the end of that lame small car segment a couple of runs back.
 
If it was Top Gear (UK) the Police would be pursuing them, not escorting them :p

Yeah, TG US has been filming for the last month or so; this has to be for that, IMO. :dance:
 
You'd think in this day and age of smartphone cameras and huge-megapixel point and shoots, they'd be capable of getting at least a decently decipherable picture instead of playing "guess the blur?".
 
Anyone else infinitesimally more interested in the camera car than any of the 500s? Doesn't help that the Fiats aren't interesting, but I'm sure you get my drift. :p
 
Wow! Camera rig looks like the type they used for the car chases in Quantum of Solace and Bourne Ultimatum. Let's just hope what TG US does with them doesn't suck as much as 007's last outing did.

The Quantum car chase was filmed with the Ultimate Arm on their ML55. I'm sorry, but I really like this stuff. :lol:

If they have this giant awesome looking camera arm does that mean they have the resources now to not have shaky in car cameras?

I've been wondering, why is that?

Magazines and other TV shows use regular plates. Why does TGUS have the logos. And how do they get away with having the logos on everything, including the camera car. (I don't see any sort of indication in the rear window of a temp plate or anything).

Talk to local law enforcement before shooting. Go back to the boat/plane/car race in Miami, the cop that told off the car specifically mentioned that they talked about speeding on that stretch of road beforehand.
