Will jenson button ever win a world championship??

^ Several F1 engineers in other teams felt sure Button should've won a couple of races in 2004.

Citation, please?

Also, the F2004 is probably the most dominant F1 car in recent times. MS won 13 races with that car, and Rubens won 2 himself, and often finished 2nd behind MS. So together they won 15 races out of 18. Then there was Trulli with his dominant Monaco win. OK so what's left, 2 races, Kimi won at Spa, as he usually does. The that leaves Interlagos where Jenson's engine blew, and JPM took the win. There was no room for victory! That F2004 was an amazing machine, and Williams was still quite good then, taking multiple podiums and a victory. It's a fact though, that Mclaren was quite shit that year, haha. Although they did make improve towards the end of the year.

Ah so it was strategy....not Jenson that let the team down!!!

To answer the question.....no I don't think he will. But I rate him very highly as a driver.

Yup, Also Mclaren totally snubbed him in 2006 when they said "there's no other available driver good enough for a Mclaren seat."

I'm pretty sure he fucking sucks, he really looks like the easiest guy in the field to pass, not counting 2008 and 2007.

Doubtful he'll win another race unless it's a freakish event...

If he shaved off that beard though.....

No, he may think he's better than Hamilton in a poor car, but the reality is that he has no where near the talent someone like Kimi or Alonso has.

No he won't win a WDC, his chance has passed. He won't win with Honda and I don't see any better teams wanting to sign him anytime soon.

That was one old-ass topic to revive...

But yes, he does. Honda D1 is now "Brackley F1", and Honda has given them some money so that they can survive through the 2009 season at least.

Its never too late.

Mansell was 27 when he first raced. Jacques Laffite was 31 when he entered F1 and ended up winning 6 GP's and twice came close to being WDC.

Mika Hakkinen only won his first GP in his 96th start and he won two WDC's back to back.

He just needs an F1 car for starters :p:p

No, it's not. That's what's weird about racing. Reach 30 in another sport like soccer (football) or football (handegg) and you gotta think about retiring if you're not a superstar.

But in racing, you can go for as long as you like, professionally. There are 60-year-old drivers in Star Mazda. Granted not at the top, but still kickin' it.

Pretty much so, just look at Hans-Joachim Stuck

This guy just turned 60 and participated in his 32 straight WC..

No. He blew it both competitively and in a business sense when he blew off his contract with Williams. Not only did he end up in the slower car with a team that only views F1 as PR and nothing more, but no self respecting team would want him after that.

Every race we hear "the car isn't there" "the car is appaling, it was the best we could do". I don't doubt the Honda is that bad, but great drivers outperform their cars.

Now, there are a couple more guys in F1 that are potential champions since Button came on the scene, and he's been bumped down the order, and that's even if he managed to get in to a top car again.

His timings at Barcelona don't seem too bad. There is a small glimmer of hope!

That's not so important, if he's good enough teams don't care. Think about Fernando Alonso. Every team except for Ferrari approached him at the end of 2007

Hmm. Alonso is a multiple world champion and probably the only man that could take it to Shumacher without the German having an off-day. But I see your point; teams would consider pace more important - but Jenson hasn't had the chance to show any. Button is almost an unknown quantity because of his car for the last few years.

:lol:good old sniff petrol
