Help ID this car (PIC of car side doors at night only)

some kias and hyundais come to mind from those wheels and the high position the rear is

Not a Nissan Altima or Maxima, though the wheels look like the ones they have. This is really difficult.

It's certainly a Nissan, that is the only company I know with those shaped door handles. I'm thinking a pre-2009 Maxima.

It could be the maxima, it's the flat sides, got the mirror blinker, the rear window even seems similar.

the pre-2009 Maxima has door handles that are equal width front to back but it looks like the handles in the OP get narrower towards the front although that could be a trick of the light.\

I looked at the 2009-2010 maxima and certain parts looks spot on but other things seem off like the spacing and thickness of the wheel spokes also if we look at the picture below which is a similar angle to the OP car the door handles seem to be rounded at the back where as the current maxima door handles are squared off.

I think it's a jetta. The door handles only look different because the light coming from the rear is casting a shadow and making then look bigger than they are.

The reference jetta pic is lighted from the side, and is white so the door handles look very small. Light strip, profile and wheels match very closely.

The side view mirror looks like it has a square edge. Every one of these cars has a rounded edge.

I really don't think it's an American car though, it doesn't have American car styling.

Here you go, might help you.

that car seems very late 90's

Nope it's supposed to be a new car according to my source (comment: young female driver got new car and had accident in less than 2 weeks of ownership, not at fault)

Yep, it's the new Jetta.

Yup, sounds like a Jetta alright

There you go, no wonder it's so generic-looking.

Absolutely a jetta.
edit: but as spectre says it looks so much like a forte it is ridiculous.

I see VW has been reduced to ripping off Kia and Hyundai now...

That's preposterous!

Huyndai is way more reliable.
