The general Massachusetts meetup thread

Well, THAT was exciting.

Kat, you should meet up with us next time. We don't bite. (Well, maybe The Finn will. :tease:)

I'm finally home too. I'll start editing my photos from the show and maybe have them up by tomorrow morning.

the meet was damn fun had a great time with a good group of FGers. the car show itself was pretty awesome with some great examples of american iron... the Country Squire with the ford racing motor was my personal favorite. I look forward to future meets with maybe even more attendance

EDIT: blaro i gotta spread some around before i can +rep you

Wow, I get home, almost immediately log on, and everyone else did exactly the same thing. It was seriously fun and it's a weekly event so we definitely need to do it again sometime.

+1 person who was not murdered btw. Hope you can come next time Kat.

tell my mom not me

For those that stayed for dinner here are the links to the DPcars crazy home built track thing start with 1 and work your way up... be warned it's fucking LONG but also an incredibly interesting read...

Obviously you should poke around his site because he has TONS of awesome stuff about his cars and other such things..

Whew, just got home and parked. Good to meet you guys; let's do Larz Anderson sometime. Curse my lack of camera, but hope you SLR-wielders can post your pics at some point.

God damnit, you went too? And you all had dinner?

I am sad :(

sad that I missed that discussion. I just read about dp about a week ago - its an awesome design. Here's something similar (basically a cut-price atom): http://www.superlitecars.com/roadster_spec.html

And here's that insane jet-supercharged diesel engine I was talking about.

And here's that insane 4362.5 cid/71.5L quad-bank radial engine, which actually has 28 cylinders (!) , is both supercharged and turbocharged (!) and is twin-sparked (!!) for 56 x 6 = 336 spark plugs for the six-engined B-36 it went into!

Although reliable in flight, the Wasp Major was maintenance intensive. Improper starting technique could foul all 56 spark plugs, which would require hours to clean or replace.

That oughta give The Finn an aneurysm.

D'oh. I just realized I shot the whole show in JPG instead of raw.

Well I suppose they were gonna end up as jpegs anyway, unless you wanted to keep the raws for your personal records. Or try to put them on phyrefile and murder the server.

>: who would like to have a secret meet with kat that isn't long enough to mom to suspect something and make more threats to kick me out.......

Well, I'm going through my shots, and due to the wonderful natural lighting, and my lack of skill/experience, my shots came out more-or-less awful. I'll still have them up in an hour or so.

Has kat ever mentioned she is a black belt in crappy-style karate :p

ALSO holy shit. I was in the middle of typing, and that post just popped up, ^^^^like without refreshing. It just faded in. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN
