Awesome Thread... [Automotive Edition]

^ Looks photoshopped

Well it's Petter Solberg on the Germany Rally 2002, and the PHOTOGRAPH is on the official Subaru page.....

Oh and Mitsu can do it too (2005 this time):

Clearly, shopped too.

God I hate those "this looks shopped" shouters...worse than those guys who used to write FIRST as a third commentator under news etc. ...

I went karting today.
The last time I did that was 12 years ago.
I was second to last (damn weight!).
It was a 10 minute qualifying and a 20 minute race. After 10 minutes of racing, I was nearly fainting from exhaustion.
My arms hurt.
It was fun. :)

Real karts or indoors?

I watched a middle-aged Brazilian man do some practice runs in a 125 Sprint kart. The last time he raced was against Ayrton Senna in Formula Fords in England. He topped the time sheets by the second session in his age group and was almost as fast as me... needless to say it was pretty awesome.

wrong thread, but this is normal if you don't kart regularly (as in atleast once a month)
I always love people who say "how can it be that tiring, all you do is sit there and turn the wheel"... So I say "why not race me" and after 15 minutes most people are sweating like a pig and cramping up

1hr + stints in endurance karting is the most fun though...

Karting is so great, we had a "competition" at my school a few months ago and it was so much fun throwing into every corner and doing little "skids" while shouting "POOOOWWWER" to myself :-D

Not the fastest way of driving but very satisfying to do :-D

But I indeed cried for my arms for a few days after :-D

I posted here because it was awesome!
Seriously, I just noticed...I was sleepy, so I just saw the "automotive" and thought it was the right place. Sorry

It was real karts! 9hp! :p

The fact that we done it at night made it a little more fun and kept us from sweating even more.

This G is nuts.. 1300HP+, 238mph in a mile from 60, 9.1 @ 169mph :|

Haha damn, still pretty slow for how much it'd cost initially plus the cost of modifying such an engine.

Still fairly impressive though, I suppose.

If that's got proper slicks on though, then that's most weak.

I didn't realize the car was in motion. Relax.

Back to the topic of awesome. Personally, I think this belongs here

Wow, they really do want to stay with the bugger. But really - that is a pretty awesome procession.

That should keep the treehuggers crying for a while :p
