That requires root, I think. At least with stock roms you can't even change volume when the screen is off.People who have tried various music apps: do any have a setting where you can hold the volume (or another) key for next track? Cyanogen's player had this and it's the only thing left I miss from that ROM.

rickhamilton620: I use poweramp, which as of the last update has FF/FB with holding on the buttons, even in the lock widget. It also has an EQ with presets. It's not free, though.
The PowerAmp player's 4x4 lock screen widget has gestures over album art. So you just swipe horizontally to change track or vertically to change folders. Easier than finding the little button.

Doesn't work here, but a quick google search gave me the answer, only available in the UK for now...
