The "New Toys" Thread

If you really wanna play that game, we can. :p

4480 pixels wide:

Don't make me get a second video card and hook my 23" up. Then I'll have 6400 pixels. :p

Do eet!

seriously I thought the unnessarily large tvs was bad, why do you need 4000px wide resolution? :p

4 screens

3 for games/porn
1 for irc

:p

Did you get a good deal on it? Since there should be an updated model right around the corner... well, at least the announcement should be right around the corner.

I got mine for "free" with a newspaper subscription. In the end it'll end up costing me only 300 eur, so I guess you could say that it's a good deal indeed.

3 monitors is just heaven when multitasking. Which is the one thing where desktop computing shines for me.

Typing this on my newest toy, a 16GB Apple iPad 3G. Being gay has never felt so good before.

Is it a prerequisite to be gay to buy an ipad?

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Are you going to do the measuring? :wicked:

I could be tempted.

I must admit, I have 2 monitors at work, and another one would be just the ticket. I do miss not having a desktop at home too. One of these days when I'm a little less transient I shall buy myself one....

Too short.

That's what they all say.

A Shark Navigator Lift-Away - basically a rip-off of the Dyson Ball vacuum:

I'm going to try it tomorrow, but somehow I'm not expecting much since it's 1/3 the price of the similar Dyson and being so new there aren't nearly enough reviews online yet.

Also, because it cost less than the old Shark Navigator which has less features; I spent a good while trying to figure out why the new model costs less than the original to no avail. I guess the proof will have to be in the pudding.

Maybe its the lack of pudding vacuuming ability.

Sorry but I don't get the joke. :hmm:

I'm about to give it a whirl, we'll see how it goes. I'm not expecting it to show any faults now though, the biggest pitfall with vacuums is when parts start breaking or falling off too early.

Edit: Yeah... it's going back. I guess when the first piece you remove from the box has a piece of plastic broken off, it's not really saying much of the overall quality.

It's not exactly new but that doesn't mean it can't be my new toy. :D

The best part is it was basically a free upgrade after selling my D40 and its kit lens. And it's a nice upgrade too; I don't know how I ever got by having to dig through menus to accomplish what this camera can do with buttons and dials. It's so much easier!

So a friend and I sort of fell into a pair of X58 motherboards, so we took a trip to microcenter to get the appropriate processors. :D
