Maple syrup on my chicken? It's more likely than you think. :canadian:

Dazrite, I did chicken breasts "breaded" with pecans and stuck to the chicken with maple syrup tonight. Epic win, it's a taste sensation. (sauce) Also had vanilla mashed potatoes... lol. Need to cook dinner with maple syrup again in the future.

Nuts make an excellent coating. I love making whitefish with a ground hazelnut crust. It's a nice departure from breadcrumbs and batter.

Pistachio chicken FTW.

^ That recipe isn't quite accurate. There are a few other spices that go into it, but I'm not quite sure what.

I've been drooling the whole time while typing this, looking for the recipie, and the picture.

At first I thought it was a waffle iron stuck to the end.

So, anyone watches MasterChef US?

Best toaster I've ever had by far. It is solid, probably 10-12 pounds, all metal. It also has a nice raise-lower mechanism that isn't popup spring based so it will never go bonkers and stretch out and lose its shit. Knob control and switch to turn on the toast after you lower it. Toast bread like a champ, bagels no problem, frozen waffles are easy. Goes from just kissed by heat to nicely dark, no setting that leads to burned toast.

And this was the view from the terrace of the restaurant:

Dinner from yesterday:
- Minced meat medallions with bits of feta cheese inside and topped with herb butter
- Green beans with breadcrumbs and melted butter
- Boiled potatoes.

By the way: The beans were frozen. For preparing frozen vegetables, I recently resorted to cooking them in the microwave to keep all the vitamins and the taste inside, using a steam bag. The result is impressive.

^that's a whole lot of patatoes

if i'm hungry, i might have 3 pieces like that, but i'd start with 2...

them meatballs sure look tasty though!

Well, the nice thing about boiled potatoes is, that you can eat as may of them, as you like. They won't make you fat ;) They will only fill your stomach :) I just love potatoes in all variations.

Since I currently mainly eat in the evenings and hardly anything else during the day, my portions at dinner are a bit bigger than usual.

Wait, what?

Boiled potatoes somehow don't have a shitload of carbohydrates?
