Britain hates freedom, filters internet of unchristian content (bans porn)!

Australia already has something like this, doesn't it? And I mean I'm not pointing fingers or anything, but people in NSFW will know what I'm talking about when I suggest it doesn't seem to work.
New South Fucking Wales? :D

Whole place (Ukania) has gone to the dogs in many ways.
Yeah, but then again, that's how it's been for the last half century.

Probably, yeah. They're probably only blocking stuff like proper porn.

<- Not a christian. Ambivilent to pornography, morally speaking. Have no kids, but live with two younger, impressionable buddies. Still don't mind porn.

Thing is, Bartlet said it right.

"Mr. President, if children can buy pornography for five dollars, isn't that too high a price to pay for freedom of speech?"
"No. I do think five dollars is too high a price to pay for pornography."

Well I'm glad to read that it's not such a big deal. Such an idiotic, pointless thing to legislate. As far as I'm concerned, people can believe whatever nonsense they like until they start forcing it on others.

They aren't emulating, they are setting the course. The U.S. has been a couple years behind the police state mentality of the U.K., but it tries to catch up.
Dunno man, we had the legislation that made up the PATRIOT Act on the shelf well before 9/11. SWAT units have turned into paramilitaries. A full 1% of our population is behind bars (highest incarceration rate in the world.) And we've unleashed the batshit crazy evangelicals, new charismatics, southern baptists, whatever, on the world. I'd say we're pretty cutting edge on the "police state" front.

Canada FTMFW.
Naw, it's too cold to fap in Canada.

You haven't paid enough attention to the U.K. :p

I agree with the horridness of our prison situation. This is what happen when you have privatized prisons.

Constitution free zone.. Err.. stupid.

Is it just me or has religious bigotry been on its way back up for a while now? The sexual revolution is going backwards. Why is it okay to show children violence in the morning program on TV but not ok to show them, how people look like without clothing?

I wonder if Monty Python's "Life of Brian" would be possible to make today in such a political climate or if it would be prevented by some christian zealots with the help of the government?

Oh man, how great the 70's were... I miss them. Bring back the Cold War, because that united us in a strange way and kept religious influences down. Am I the only one, who has the feeling, that our world is morally and socially falling apart these days?

How long do you think it will take, until caricatures of Jesus or the pope will result in riots against newspapers and TV stations?

Sorry for the rant.

If we look for Britain, it's part of a more fundamental problem. Look, you can't even swear on British television before the watershed. You can't say a certain number of words. But other words, they're fine.

As long as it's been acceptable to cencor harmless words, it doesn't suprise me that the moralists wants to get into the bed room as well. It's the logical next fucking step.
