Random Thoughts....

Maybe they'll wait to see how the A-Team movie goes. If that makes $$, you might see Rockford and Magnum on the big screens...........

Why do they have to rehash old stuff (don't get me wrong, BIG fan of A-Team, have the DVDs and the books and all that), instead of putting $ into things like Firefly?

American media conglomerates are run by idiots. I'm not sure if this is a problem that is shared by the media conglomerates in other countries, but for some ridiculous reason the American conglomerates are too stupid to actually let a series develop. As a result, unless the pilot is a smash hit, it's getting canned pretty much immediately. Even though, more often than not, a series - especially something like Firefly - needs a bit of time to develop and find an audience, something which can't be done if you're constantly screwing with the schedule, airing episodes out of order, and canceling it pretty much immediately.

HBO seems to be the only network that actually allows a series develop and take hold - witness the Wire, which was never a massive hit but did last five seasons of critical acclaim and adoration.

TGA - case in point...SBS starts bedding it down, Channel Nein screws it up.

Is there a hunting season for network execs? Makes the term 'Head Hunter' a little more scary

This is completely true. I saw it for the first time last night, and I loved it.

I miss Pandora, I miss the Na'vi, and I miss Jake Sully. I want more of the characters, more of the cheesy plot, and more of the story!

Literally, it is exactly what I expected and exactly what I waned from the movie. The CGI was amazing, the story was cheesy, but entertaining and emotional (Sucker for romance here), and overall I want to go see it again.

Yeah, I'm not going to lie, I still think about that movie when my mind wanders. It was just so visually vivid.

While I'm writing this, an ambulance is parked outside and an emergency doctor went upstairs to a neighbor of mine, an elderly woman. Obviously she is conscious but being transported into hospital. I hope she's alright, she is a nice old lady...

I've always wondered what the point of the forum "friend" function is. When, in the real world, do you approach a person and say "do you wanna be my fwiend pweese?" Well, when after kindergarten.

Well, to me the friend function does 2 things: for one, I can tell at a glance which of my friends are online because they appear with a + next to their name at the bottom of the screen. Much easier than scanning all the names. Also, if I want to write a PM to a friend it's much easier than to someone I'm not friends with. The Contacts and Friends link takes me right to the list, and one more click and I start writing.

So it's not so much about letting people know I like them as it is about making it easier for me to get in touch with them.

And I don't know how relevant this is, but a real-life friend of mine actually said "fweinds?" to me once upon a time. She was shy and I didn't know if she liked me or not until then. :p So it works after kindergarten.

It is. At no point did I think "damn, that is good CGI" because I had forgotten that it was CGI.

Holy mother of CGI that was impressive looking! One of the best movies I have ever seen, not one of the best I have ever heard.

He's got radioactive blood.
Can he swing from a thread
Take a look overhead
Hey, there
There goes the Spiderman.

Now, if that were the case, why has North Korea (to my knowledge) not abducted him, and used his DNA for their bombs?

Just a thought, quite a random one at that.

Glad to be of assistance. In other news - it is still freezing outside - damn you Global Warming, damn you all to hell!

/EDIT /Rant Mode on/ You can not call it climate change - the climate is always changing for many reasons. It is changing at an unacceptable speed (difficult for man to adapt quickly enough) in one direction - WARMING UP! Soooo it is GLOBAL WARMING do not let these weathermen escape with weasel words - if it does not heat up in 40 years you youngsters can call the scientists to account and ask them where they went wrong, and can we have the tax back please? /Rant Mode off. ...

I'm not a sucker for romance. Usually it's corny and kind of makes me mad. Will I hate it, or are the visuals that "wooooooow!!!" to make up for it?

Aww, it won't show for me. Puffalump?

It's so we can add each other as friends and then get semi-almost-but-not-too-mad at someone for removing us as their facebook FinalGear friend only to find out later that they're really just running for office/going on a mission trip to a dangerous part of the world/using that one meme that Quiky hates and whatever that is that they're doing necessitated the deletion of their profile (...and therefore, they aren't really mad at you, despite all the huffing and puffing you made about no longer being facebook FG friends).

Whee!

Predators game was awesome, almost lost my voice because they spotted the other team 3 points before they decided to play offense. Only got 2 of those back. Oh well, had a great time and my friends did too.

Roxxxy the sex robot makes her world debut

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AFP) - Billed as a world first, Roxxxy the sex robot made here debut in front of adoring fans at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas.

The life-size robotic girlfriend comes complete with complete with artificial intelligence and flesh-like synthetic skin.
"She can't vacuum, she can't cook but she can do almost anything else if you know what I mean," TrueCompanion's Douglas Hines said while introducing AFP to Roxxxy.

"She's a companion. She has a personality. She hears you. She listens to you. She speaks. She feels your touch. She goes to sleep. We are trying to replicate a personality of a person."
Roxxxy stands five feet, seven inches tall, weighs 120 pounds, "has a full C cup and is ready for action," according to Hines, who was an artificial intelligence engineer at Bell Labs before starting TrueCompanion.

The anatomically-correct robot has an articulated skeleton that can move like a person but can't walk or independently move its limbs.
Robotic movement is built into "the three inputs" and a mechanical heart that powers a liquid cooling system.

Roxxxy comes with five personalities. Wild Wendy is outgoing and adventurous, while Frigid Farrah is reserved and shy.
There is a young naive personality along with a Mature Martha that Hines described as having a "matriarchal kind of caring." S & M Susan is geared for more adventurous types.

Aspiring partners can customize Roxxxy features, including race, hair color and breast size. A male sex robot named "Rocky" is in development.
People ordering the robots online at truecompanion.com detail their tastes and interests much like online dating sites but here, the information is used to get the mechanical girlfriend in synch with her mate.

"She knows exactly what you like," Hines said of Roxxxy, noting that Rocky will also come with personalities.
"If you like Porsches, she likes Porsches. If you like soccer, she likes soccer."

Roxxxy will chat with her flesh-and-blood mate, and touching her elicits comments varying according to personalities.
She is wirelessly linked to the Internet for software updates, technical support and to send her man email messages.

People can customize "true companion" personalities and then share the programs with others online on the company's website, according to Hines.
"Just think about wife or girlfriend swapping without actually giving the person to someone else," Hines said. "You can share the personality online."

Inspiration for the sex robot sprang from the September 11, 2001 attacks, when planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon and an empty field in Pennsylvania.
"I had a friend who passed away in 9/11," Hines said. "I promised myself I would create a program to store his personality, and that became the foundation for Roxxxy True Companion."

Hines sees his creation as not only a recreational innovation but as an outlet for the shy, people with sexual dysfunction, and those who want to experiment without risk.
Roxxxy versions are priced from 7,000 to 9,000 dollars, depending on features. The sex robot is available in Europe and the United States and will eventually be available globally, according to Hines.

Might be able to buy Viper one if we all pitch in? :p

ITV due to resurrect the Crystal Maze with Amanda Holden as host...

...yup, shared by other countries.

anyone else have to watch the women's tennis with the sound down? The grunting is rather off-putting.

I blame Monica Seles - she started it. No wonder some bloke stabbed her!

Ironically her name is an anagram of Camel Noises.........
