Adrian and his trusty sidekick crossing the Americas - Summer-Fall 2015

WTF

They survived 24 hours in Detroit!

I'd definitely do that. What idiots. Even takes the car in neutral while going over the bridge in the first video to rev the V12 apparently...

Reminds me of stories of valet drivers who do burnouts etc. with their customer cars...

i'm guessing you'll have a word with the company then?

Not sure if admitting concealed surveillance is such a good idea  might backfire more than any useful results you may or may not get, Germans don't really like being taped secretly... and have the laws in place to back that up.

Most people don't like people driving their car like a jackass and even spinning out, either...

That goes without saying.

However, what'd be the point of making a big deal about it with the shipping company?
Is there damage to be fixed? Given Ronja's general state I'd say
Are they going to fire the driver? Even if the company cared that much, they couldn't fire him based on illegally taped video evidence.
Is he going to get a partial refund on the shipping fees? Again , why should they?
Are they, or the employee filmed, going to sue Adrian? Also unlikely, but with nothing to gain I see no reason to take the risk... especially when there's a return trip still left to be made.

If nobody says something nobody does something. I won't make a big deal about it, i am just explaining i expected better than that.

They can't sue me out of country without going to my country either. And as for lowering the cost, my agreement is with Oceania Shipping (US based) via Motorships Norway (.no based) not the people at the port in Bremerhaven.

As for the camera it's not hidden, it's clearly stated in the cars process papers that it has a running dashcam and it's up to them to disable it or not. The driver was not filmed, just the rammafications of his actions, so there's no privacy garbage here.

As for general damage, i'm missing a front grill which they have forcibly ripped off the car for some reason and one plate.

Wait, what?

So was I being taped the whole time as well?

Dins: Not you personally, but the driving yes. Most of it's been overwritten - only have a small card in it.
Please don't sue.

Redliner: Guess they were looking for the tow hook, looking at the dashcamfootage there's many many tries to start it, but they couldn't figure out the immobilizer even given clear instructions with a picture to explain.

Which grille is missing, and are the mount points intact inside?

Just in case, I compiled a list of every BMW specialist yard in Texas that has 8-series available for scavenging. :D So we might be able to replace that here.

Would have been nice to know, less from a privacy perspective, more common courtecy...
Whatever, didn't fart that much anyway.

So, how many people asked where the plates are from?
